Ok, so I've been really struggling with my nano and I haven't been sure why. However, I think today I've cracked it.
I've made the decision to change from 3rd to 1st person and it's flowing much easier.
Now, the question is. Do I go back through 8000 words and make changes or just go from 1st person from now on?

See your reply on my question about pirate dialogue - No, no, no and No! part of the whole point of NaNo is you concentrate on what you're writing right now and what you'll be writing in a bit, and don't worry about what you've already written! A couple of times already in my story I've got to the end of a scene or paragraph and thought "Hmm, not sure I like where this is going...". The best thing to do (in my opinion) is to decide how it should've gone, maybe write a few notes so you don't forget and then simply carry on as though what you've written is what you should've written I'd advise you to make a note to say something like "Switching POV", maybe change the note's colour to make it stand out, then carry on as though POV has always been 1st person. Remember: you can always go back to the first 8,000 words after NaNoWriMo, during your first revision! I hope changing POV makes helps you settle in to your story.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with scree. Just continue from this point and write in your new chosen POV. Highlighting or marking this point is a great idea. You will have plenty of time after November 30 to go back and revise.
Good luck!

Haha, well I did go back a change a bit... mainly because I felt like I could write more from the beginning and add in more scenes. This is mainly because I don't write chronologically, so it wasn't too bad to go back and change little bits. I feel so much better in 1st person, it just fits. I've written a lot more now, was struggling so much in 3rd person! Thanks!
