I ask this of the writers here, because I am curious if anyone else has ever disagreed with some famous critic and gotten a snarky response that implies "you're a complete gibbering fool for not agreeing with me!"
Writers aren't supposed to argue with critics, but what if, for example, the critic was critiquing someone else's work and you chimed in because you didn't think the critique was fair? Did you get shot down?
If you have stories, I'd love to hear them.

LOL. (I'm ending all my posts with LOL today for a special reason.) Forgive me if I'm a little bit late, but it sounds like you dearly wanted someone to ask you why you had "LOL" at the end of your post and I found it so sad that no-one did..! Why did you have LOL at the end of your post? In answer to your question, I've only ever annoyed critics in the field of computing (which is the field in which I work) and that was fun, too ;D
