Hi all, I thought you might like to hear about a project I've assigned myself. As some of you may know I'm a giant geek and so I love the lord of The rings films, I have decided to give the books a go as part of the 52 book challenge. Now here is the news I've decided as part of that I will also learn to write the elven language of sindarin. There are actually two elven languages Sindarin and Quenya but Sindarin is what is used by the high elves so I went with that one . I know this is kind of a pointless task but I think it will help to learn more about language as a whole as well as be alot of fun. What do u guys think? Has anyone else ever learnt it spoken or written? Oh and if u want to give it a go too let me know and I'll send you the PDF course I have. Thanks for listening (reading) Soph x

Hey Soph,
Wow, that's quite an epic task you're taking. I think French is enough in my repertoire, but I'm looking forward to you sending me stuff in Sindarin! Good luck chick! xx

Good luck!
At the centre of one of my tattoos I have the elven letter D and I am often asked what it is (by people used to Chinese character tattoos!)

Thanks for all the support guys I'm doing ok I can write basic English now the hard part is translating the English into Sindarin so I can then write it correctly. It's hard enough learning a language, let alone creating many! Tolkien was seriously a genius! Loupy if your husband's interested I'm happy to send you the info I have no problem

Good luck! At the centre of one of my tattoos I have the elven letter D and I am often asked what it is (by people used to Chinese character tattoos!) That's pretty rad! I've recently taken up pyrography (drawing by burnin into wood or leather) and I'm planning a jewellery box for my girlfriend covered in elven script, it's a really beautiful looking language so thumbs up to you for doing something different!

Well, I try! I also have a branding (1.5" x 2") which is the brand that Predators give themselves using Alien acid blood.
