I do this on my blog, but I also thought it would be fun to do here.
My desk is covered with scraps of paper that I've written on. In this thread I'll just grab one randomly and post about whatever it says.
Okay, the first one I grabbed won't work. It's just a list of paints that I need. (titanium white, burnt sienna, phthalo blue and ultramarine, in case you were wondering).
Paper #2. A pink post-it. "Age and the calcification of your mental arteries".
Paper #3. A mint green post-it, with a scrap of dialogue: "I'll never forget you, Whatever-Your-Name-Was".

Your desk sounds like my brain - CRAZY! lol. I'm actually not organized enough to even have scraps of paper on my desk. I do have a notebook that is titled "brain fragments". I'm not at my desk at home right now but I'll have to hunt it up and see if I have anything fun in there.
I really like paper 2.... interesting!

Yeah, the only problem is I can't remember what that was supposed to be about.

I immediately conjured up an image of a girl painting her house the wrong color and it reminded her mother of her divorce. Fun idea. I have loads of scrap paper lying around, too, but they're usually reminders to myself about details I have to tweak in something I've already written. Such as: Make sure you follow through on the broken window and have Ben find the glass on the floor.Things like that. But I bet I have other interesting notes somewhere. I just have to find them in my mess...

However, I have a small notebook that I take around with me. You can see the whole creative process of how Limebird was born in there. I also just found random ideas for a children's book - " holding the key to another world" and also the backbones of my NaNo novel!

I do this with my phone memos page: (thought I had more, I guess I used them or moved them to the lappy which I don't have.) "Lake shark" "He got old and I didn't."

This is a awesome post. I have a million scraps of paper EVERYWHERE especially around my bed as a lot of my thoughts come when I'm lying in bed so I will add to this discussion as soon as I get upstairs

Thought i'd pop in and add a random note i found on my phone (typed horrendously may i add) after deciphering it (god knows what i was drinking when i wrote it) i think its a story idea! : "gods use our world and others as a form of entertainment, competitons to see whose world lives longest with Judges creating natural disasters called events to weaken/strengthen odds" seems odd and maybe a little inspired from hunger games books but you never know it could be a starting point

Yeah it could have been. Maybe you should start writing!

Here's another one I found:
"If I love something, I want it all to myself. But if I hate something, I want everybody to hate it with me."
