Hi Everyone, My name is David and I am a psychology graduate. I recently returned from traveling around the world and hope to study medicine in 2014. I like writing but often make silly grammatical mistakes and annoy some of my more particular friends (grammar police). There is definitely some room for improvement on my part, most of the time it's because I am lazy! Nice to meet you all, David Aww Dave, hello there! For everyone.. I'm pretty sure that Dave is referring to me when he talks about the grammar police, haha! He's one of my awesomest buddies! Welcome to the forum my lovely! B xx

I've been reliably informed this is a grammar police free zone. I like to think of LimeBirds as a no-man's-land between the Nazi-occupied grammar fortress, where copy-editors throw rocks at the illiterate, and the broken wasteland of raw ideas. People like you and I come here to parley, trading ideas and stories we've picked up in the dusty void. The grammar police tolerate our presence, but every now and then the grammar tax collectors come round with their dictionaries and synonym finders to drag some of us off to the fortress for a good kicking. What's your favourite place you've visited on your travels? I'm off to New Zealand for a few weeks, soon

Afternoon All, My name's Laura and although I've been following Limebird on Twitter for a while, it was only today that I clicked on their link and wandered through the site, found some groovy sounding people with creativity buzzing through their fingertips and thought I needed to come here. So, Hello! It's not easy being a 'writer', especially as most writers around the world get paid nothing. It's like running or playing chess, you don't have to be a pro to call yourself a writer. You just have to write. And love it when you do (most of the time) I write short stories, a couple of which have been published, poems (generally for use at my friend's weddings!) and am writing a novel. My first chapter came runnerup in a national competition recently, which is heartening to know you might be on the right track. I also have a couple of blogs. I am a techno-phobe, so if I manage to put posts in the wrong threads, reply on the wrong page and delete things - it's all a big accident. Apologies in advance fellow writers! Laura Welcome to Limebird Writers!

Hallo, all! I've been an avid follower of the Limebirds for a while, now, both through the blog and Twitter (I mostly stay away from Facebook, except for work), but - for some reason - I hadn't realized there was a forum, too! (Shame on me!) I live in the US, though I have extended family in Europe (England and Austria) and Asia (Japan). I've been writing stories since I was quite small. Even though I'm only 5'1" now, I've actually been writing stories for the last two decades or so. I work in higher education as the video IT lead at an arguably prestigious, inarguably Ivy university. But you don't want to know about that. I read most all genres, but write mostly slice-of-life: what you'd call the "human interest" (or "fluff") segment on a news show. I am trying my hand at a science fiction-y adventure story for this year's National Novel Writing Month, so we'll see how that goes. Happy weekend, everyone!

Hi bonusparts / rocket cat (/ Mayumi-H? )! Welcome! I'll take a proper look at your blog at some point (maybe after November... This writing month is insane!). I see you have a section for short stories on there, which I will definitely spend some time on. Best of luck with your science fiction adventure for NaNoWriMo. What's your NaNoWriMo name?

Assuming this message doesn't blow up (forums don't like me), I'm Shannon & I'm here from FindStuff2Read.com (as opposed to my personal blog). Special thanks to LimebirdBeth for getting my login to work (I did say forums don't like me!).

I love your intro. And I hope that your NaNo story is working out more smoothly for you since your 2,000 word rush.

Thanks, Lord Scree! Agreed, this month is insane, in many ways! My NaNoWriMo name is "bonusparts" - that's how I'm known in most circles. I just get free with my real name to folks I like.
