My cousin shared an interview with an author called Rupert Thomson in the Guardian. I don't generally read the Guardian, and, until this morning, I had not heard of Rupert Thomson, but I find my cousin's Facebook posts are often worth reading. The interview puts Thomson in a very good light, so much so that I'm keen to go and look him out. One line in particular sticks out for me: "Even as I was writing it I had a sense of all the other versions of the same story I could write and was conscious of what I was leaving out." I've certainly experienced something like this before, and been frustrated how quickly thoughts disappear before I can get them on the page. Have you?
