So, I mentioned in another thread that I haven't ever read 'The Hobbit', and I feel like I should have done, it's such a classic!
Does anyone else have any books they've never read, but feel like they should have done?

TheHobbit is a good one, especially if you're only sort-of into Middle Earth. (Fewer multiple names to memorize.) It's relatively short/quick, too. Let us know what you think! Books I've never read but should have done, eh? A lot of philosophy books would fall into this category, for me. (Husband is really into Cartesian philosophy, which...bleah.) I suppose, I prefer my philosophy to come more through stories. As for lauded fiction, I could never finish Howard's End, even though it's regarded as a seminal work. And, don't get me started on Catcher in the Rye-! Sons and Lovers is another "classic" I should probably read, but I just can't get past those first few pages. (I always put it down and pick up Frankenstein or Jekyll and Hyde, instead.) I don't read a lot of contemporary fiction outside my shortlist of favorite authors. And I'm terrible that I don't read much in my genre...but I find many modern romance novels over-the-top. I guess that's why I consider myself more a "drama" storyteller than a "romance" one. I like there to be some believability in my relationships.

I know, I'm sure I would like it, I've just never sat down and read it! Haha, Catcher in the Rye I had to read at school, I can't exactly remember if I enjoyed it or not!
