Howdy all! If you're a writer (and you probably are if you're reading this), I'm looking for original short stories as well as excerpts from longer works. All fiction genres for YA, teen, and adult audiences. Works can be published elsewhere, provided you get or retain the rights to post online. If you have a book for sale online, we'll link to it from any excerpt you provide. Short stories can link back to your blog, author page, website, Facebook, and/or Twitter. This is all for the site FindStuff2Read.com, which has the goal of helping readers find content they'll enjoy (which, coincidentally, helps writers sell books & gain an audience). Please email FindStuff2Read@gmx.com with any questions. Thanks!

Hi Shannon, Having taken a look at your site, I'm interested in finding out more about the author's section. How will this work? Don't get me wrong, I'm not yet looking to make any money for my work (I doubt anyone would pay for it, to be honest, as I'm a bit of a newbie). I'm just trying to gauge the field of play. For example, do we retain all rights to any work we provide you? Will you be making the works freely available, or will readers be fee-paying subscribers and/or purchasing individual stories?* I have written a few short stories I'd be happy to share. You can find them here: www.scree.co.uk/p/short-stories.html"Beasts" has been published in a local compilation, but I retained all rights to this. After NaNoWriMo, I might be happy to look at writing something on demand, if you have something in mind. I can't guarantee it'll be the most amazing thing you've ever read, but I can guarantee I'll fulfil all the criteria and try my bestest ;D *I may have completely misunderstood the purpose of your site here... Please forgive me if that's so!

Lord Scree,
The site is designed to be entirely free to the public. Short stories are to be provided in their entirety, and links to the author's site(s) provided with it. Authors retain all of their rights, but must grant Find Stuff 2 Read, LLC the right to put the material online (if it has been previously published, the author must have the legal right to have it put online).
As for books, I post excerpts provided by an author/agent/publisher, again, taking only the right to provide it to the public online. These also come with links to author site(s) and places to purchase.
The idea is that authors want to be found, and this will expand their reach to the reading public... including all the readers who are never going to touch a literary magazine with a ten foot pole.
Does that answer your questions? If not, drop me a line here or at FindStuff2Read@gmx.com

I'll get you stories soon, Shannon D:
Maybe I should bring this up to my writing class before the semester ends.

I hope you were able to mention it. Sorry I didn't get back here sooner (stupid virus going around).
