...i'm midway through my first round of edits on my nanowrimo book, and i figured i'd ask, where's everyone with their own post-nano work? did you post it somewhere? circulate it among friends? put it in a box never to be seen again? something else? what's up with your nano book and how's that going for you?
let me know....

Well, i'm in the process of starting to edit it, I doubt it will be for any publications but I'd sure like to clean it up to it makes a bit more sense!
Good luck with your editing! Will you be looking to publish?

Still working on finishing it, sadly. I plan to publish it.

Have finished the second draft, waiting on some feedback before finalising it and then sending it to a publisher.

I didn't do anything with my Nano! It's still sitting there on my computer... completely untouched!

I sent "Talatu" (my 2010 NaNovel) to a publisher. If I haven't heard by the end of the year I'll publish it myself (concentrating on pushing my collection at the moment.

Yep I got to an ending, because I wrote the ending half way through. (I don't write chronologically). The thing that is holding me back is that the plot was weak and I didn't connect with the characters. No thanks!

I never thought of taking that approach, but now I think about it I have often had ideas for sections of the story yet to come and have sometimes got frustrated having to get there before I can use the ideas (by which time the inspiration is lost or forgotten)! *yoink*

Haha, no I don't! It's the same for my blog posts, work bits and bobs etc. Well, glad I could help!
In Nano last year, I wrote some of the middle, then some of the end, then the beginning, then went back and did other bits. I just write sections that come to me, then fill in the gaps!

Dennis, I think you should hold out a little longer to see if Talatu is pubbed tradditionally. I'm so excited for her though. I will def buy it however it comes out. I never finished reading it in the word doc cause that was hard, but I loved what I did. I read a bit.
Writers, that's a good idea. If you're stuck move on, and write what inspires you. In my notes I'm making for my nano novel, which doesn't have a title yet, haha, I'm jumping around writing down scenes and character ideas. I'm still pretty much in the beginning. I already know how it ends though.
Happily.
Also, I wrote a massive run on. Run ons for the win.

Forgive my ignorance; what's a run on?

It's basically where two clauses are joined without punctuation in a sentence! Most people would chuck a comma splice in there though.
For example:
"I'm out of chocolate I must go to the shops." is a run on sentence.
"I'm out of chocolate, I must go to the shops." (With a comma splice)
