So what do you do when you're two-thirds of the way through a NaNo chapter, you know that you really need to write about another 7-800 words of something before moving on to the next plot point, but you're completely stuck on what to write about? Hmmm...You write an erotic love scene of course!
Ha! Honestly I sat there staring at the screen, my mind completely blank. There was a man, there was a woman, they were alone. What could I come up with for them to do? There must be something...ting!
It took me completely by surprise that I wrote a scene like that. It also took me by surprise how quickly my fingers were able to rattle that scene out too. Phew, I needed to catch my breath at the end of it. It wasn't in the plan at all.
Has NaNo caused you to write something that completely took you by surprise?

Hehe, is it wrong that the first thing I thought was "Can I read it?"

Haha, I'm a bit scared to even read it myself, let alone have anybody else read it!

Hello again! Sorry, I was at my weekly "Wednesday Nights" event and unable to offer my full attention earlier I have so far managed to avoid too many surprises during this year's NaNo. But last time I ended up accidentally killing the sun (it's okay, because it was in a parallel universe). And another time, one of my characters ascended into a godlike madness - that was a bit of a surprise too. Both times, however, I found myself writing very easily, without thinking. And although both events totally screwed up my story plan, I was really pleased with the result. If your new romance section doesn't fit in with your story now, you could always use it in the next one, or maybe later in the story

Haha, well I keep getting stuck too, and I'm delaying my protag going into my other world, because I haven't created it yet! I can't really do a love scene though, because it's aimed at 9-12 year olds. Think it might be a bit wrong!

This is awesome Vanessa. Yes, I once wrote an erotic love scene when I had nothing else to write before my next plot point, too! And it did take me by surprise. That's why I love pantsing, because I think you're more like to write no hold barred and explore your fictional world a lot more thoroughly. Of course, it means more stuff to throw away, but I'm okay with that.
