Holy crap you've already gotten through 2 books!! I must bow down to you master. I shall erect a statue in your honor.
I'm still on my first book, 268 pages out of 417. My husband almost took the book away from me last night, asking if I was really enjoying it or just trying to power through it. Its an action/adventure type of story, and its YA so it reads fast anyway (like the Hunger Games) so I probably would have gotten through it fast anyway. I've just been opting to read rather than play video games / watch TV.
I haven't read the lord of the rings, and if you could get through them in just a few days each you may be a super hero!

Lol well as you said hunger games is YA so super easy to read I imagine that the lord of the rings books will take me a good few months as they are so in depth but I will keep you updated . I have to admit I'm slacking a bit with everything because of playing call of duty. Something about shooting snotty nosed teenage boys that just keeps me hooked . Keep trucking with your book though and ignore your husband maybe you could distract him with some sport or a action flick Soph x

I'm about 50 pages to the end of the book now wooot wooot!
The thought of shooting snotty nosed teenage boys sounds fun to me too, but I've never played CoD.
The husband knows better than to take my books away mwuahahaha. He is playing something, I'm not sure. I got it for him for Christmas though. He gave me a list of video games he wanted and I got most of them, I just can't remember what they are now.
Oh I just asked him what it was, apparently he's playing metal gear solid.
I have to work in 2 hours but I think I can get thru these 50 pages then which will have me one book down in about 24 hours woot woot!

It definitely is amazing how fast you can read when you actually sit down and do it. Last night I opted to read instead of catch a show I recorded to the DVR - which allowed me to finish my second book!! WOOOT I read The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker (what Hellraiser was based on), it was so great. If you like horror I say read it read it read it read it read it! cheesecakesummer.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/the-hellbound-heart/

Well just a little update, I managed to read the remaining two hunger game books (catching fire and mockingjay) I really enjoyed them although I was a team gale kinda gal I'd say more but don't want to spoil them! I'm now on my 3rd book of the year love and honour it's a super cheesy lesbian romance novel based around the secret service, FBI etc but there easy reads at the time of year when ur suffering through too many carbs and way too much alcohol. Anyway as I said just a quick update on progress I'm considering a little side challene of reading the lord of the rings trilogy as I tried at 14 and failed miserably. I'm hoping nearly a decade older I can tackle them and succeed has anyone else read them? Soph x I have not read Lord of the RIngs, but I did want to comment on the fact you read The Hunger Games. I have also read them, and I think I might have to agree with you re Gale!! Isn't that funny. But, I'll follow your lead and say no more... I actually just started reading The Way of the Shadows (or whatever the title is, I can't grab the book right now, I left it in my daughter's room and she's sleeping...). The author is Brent Weeks. I'm reading it because I made a deal with a fellow writer to read a brand-new author/genre to kick off 2012. I am used to reading mainstream/commercial fiction (aside from the Hunger Games, my biggest stray from my usual booklist). Soph, maybe we should start a thread about the Hunger Games...we could put out a spoiler alert?!? I'm really eager to discuss it with other writers! Okay, I convinced myself. I'm gonna post something! Limebirdkate

I'm currently taking the 2012 Challenge on www.goodreads.com. It is an excellent place for readers, authors and anyone who just loves books. I set my goal for the year at 24 books or two a month. Hmmmm, now if I take this challenge...that'll be another 52 books....okay, I'm game. I'll just have to put aside my copy of Don Quixote.

Good luck Jeffrey! I think putting off don quioxte might be a good move for now lol!
I just finished my 4th book - The House of Dead Maids. I saw it at the book store Friday and had to buy it because of a line on the front "a chilling prelude to Wuthering Heights". Withering Heights is one of my favorites of all time so I had to read it, and it was pretty good. The author weaves in Bronte family history with the story of Heathcliff before he comes to meet Mr. Earnshaw from Wuthering Heights. So I thought that was pretty cool - Definitely for anyone who's a fan of Wuthering Heights.

It's so awesome to see so many getting involved with this and I am definitely in for a HG discussion. I'm seriously slacking reading wise because I had a stack of 20 comics waiting for me, plus some graphic novels and my g/f was here (long distance relationship) so serious time management issues but she's back home today so I will be filling my loneliness with books once more x
